The Inner Circle is a hospitality concept that fuses two different elements together - the Glasgow subway and Glasgows love of bars. The aim with this concept was to create something that would captured the character of the Glaswegian community. We felt that if we could achieve this, then the bar could establish a unique connection between anyone attending the venue, regardless of their background and personal interests.
We started to ask: “What would an evening in this bar look like?”
When answering this question, we looked at different aspects of the Glasgow subway and how it could all blend together into a list of core ideas that would feature in the bar. As these core ideas developed and grew, we weaved functionality throughout the layout so that the concept could feel as believable as possible.
The concept was released on social media and met with over one hundred thousand views and over ten thousand reactions. With such a large public reception, we managed to achieve our original aim behind the project, as well as going one step further and featuring in multiple media interviews.
